Named after one of our well-wishers from Canada who died due to cancer, Dona place for Children is Day-Care/Play Group school designed to house young children from a few months old to 7 years. During the day, women with young children mostly, working in the rich neighborhoods as house helpers, gardeners, etc, usually leave their children at our center, go to work and come back later and pick up their children. The idea came after we had experienced several fire outbreaks in Kibera that usually found small children locked in the house unattended leading to several death.
